Still undefeated, still the No. 2 team in the country.
After sweeping Auburn inside Memorial Coliseum over the weekend, the 6-0 Kentucky Wildcats Volleyball Team came in ranked as the second-best team in the nation behind only the 12-0 Texas Longhorns. The updated ranking marks the second consecutive week that the ‘Cats come in at No. 2. UK began the season at No. 3 and was able to leapfrog the Baylor Bears for No. 2 after beating a ranked Missouri squad twice the week before. Kentucky received two first-place votes.

The wins over Auburn were the smoothest thus far of the shortened season. Kentucky won the first game 3-0 and then did the same the next day in game two, despite a key injury to star player Avery Skinner. Without her, the ‘Cats were still able to overwhelm the Tigers, winning both matches by a combined score of 150-91.
KSR’s Alex Weber has been killing it with the coverage of this team the last couple of outings and he’ll be back again later this week to help finish out the regular season. Kentucky takes on Mississippi State this Thursday and Friday in Starkville in what will be the fall season finale before they continue in the spring.
