Kentucky to play Mitch Barnhart’s alma mater in opening exhibiton

There is a special connection in tomorrow night’s exhibition game versus Ottawa (Ks.) University.  As Kyle Tucker from the Courier-Journal pointed out earlier today, Ottawa is the alma mater of our very own athletic director.

Ottawa University is the school that gave Barnhart his knowledge base to do what he does for the Kentucky Athletic programs today. At the exhibition, both Kentucky and Ottawa will be able to honor Barnhart for his tremendous work and accomplishments.

Tomorrow’s match holds great significance for Barnhart, but we all know where his loyalties lie. One alma mater led him to his old Kentucky home, and we can all be counting on a “Go Cats” from Barnhart come tomorrow night.
