Congratulations are in order for Kentucky softball coach Rachel Lawson, as she’s now the first coach in program history to record 400 career wins as Kentucky’s head coach.

The achievement came Friday when the No. 21 Cats run-ruled two different teams during ESPN’s St. Pete/Clearwater Elite Invitational. UK defeated Hofstra 8-0 and Utah 13-2.

Kentucky will be back in action Saturday afternoon, when they’ll face No. 11 Texas. The game is set to start at 10 a.m. and can be seen on the SEC Network. The fun continues throughout the afternoon, when UK will play No. 19 Oregon at 4 p.m. on ESPNU.

For the first time this year, the Wildcats have hit .500 – Saturday’s wins pushed the Cats to a 4-4 record on the season.

Congrats and well done. Have a very competitive team for several years and plays a tough schedule. This team will be ready come tourney time with the brutal schedule she plays.
And on a side note our gymnastics team was flat out robbed tonight. Gave the win to UGA and would have been first ever victory over UGA in head to head match. Had lead with last rotation and they robbed our last gymnast, about 1 point lower score given {8.25} to her than what she deserved {9.25}. Then the last UGA gymnast goes, at home, and does a very good performance. They give her a 9.75, was probably a 9.25-9.50 performance. Either way if they give the correct scores we win the match. Our C-A-T-S were awesome tonight, 2nd best score in history yet robbed by bias judges. Hope SEC looks into that. We have a lot of great teams at UK.

I like to watch gymnastics and figure skating in the Olympics; but, subjective scoring is a problem.
