Kentucky is all in on closing out its class of 2020 with a bang and laying the groundwork on the class of 2021, but that’s not stopping them from looking ahead a bit to some rising sophomore prospects.
Bruce Thornton, a four-star point guard in the class of 2022, has scheduled an unofficial visit to Kentucky for January 4.
Evan Daniels of 247Sports was the first to break the news.

This news comes after the UK coaching staff made an effort to visit the four-star guard 6-foot-1 guard out of Atlanta, GA twice this year.
Thornton, who is listed at 6-foot-1, 180 pounds, is listed as the No. 44 prospect in the 247Sports Composite Rankings. Rivals has Thornton listed as the No. 30 overall prospect, while 247Sports lists him at No. 47 overall.
Xavier was the first school to offer Thornton during his freshman season, with Alabama, Clemson, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Iowa State, Tulane, and Vanderbilt following suit not long after. He also visited the likes of Alabama, Auburn, Georgia, and Vanderbilt this summer, making the intrigue of playing in the SEC an obvious one.
Here are some of the four-star guard’s highlights:
As a sophomore, his recruitment is just getting started, but Calipari and his staff are not being shy in letting Thornton know he’ll be a priority for Kentucky moving forward.
