The University of Kentucky has released findings from a new round of COVID-19 testing for student-athletes.
Since July 8 sixty (60) more student-athletes — primarily from the men’s soccer and swimming and diving teams — have been tested as they returned to campus. Three student-athletes tested positive for past infection through antibody testing and two tested positive for active coronavirus. This group includes members of other teams that were late arrivals, like Isaiah Jackson from the men’s basketball team.
In addition to the student-athletes, 25 staff members have been tested since the last update from UK. Only one tested positive for active coronavirus and was required to quarantine and abide by CDC restrictions.
The Kentucky women’s basketball team is currently in the process of returning to campus. They will be screened and undergo multiple tests before voluntary workouts begin.
