After spending the weekend at the Peach Jam, the Kentucky coaching staff is extending more offers in the 2022 class. Today, John Calipari and his staff offered Kyle Filipowski, a four-star center from Wilbraham, Massachusetts.

Filipowski, considered the No. 6 center and No. 33 overall player in the 2022 class by 247 Sports Composite, had quite the showing at the Peach Jam for the NY Renaissance (aka NY Rens), turning in 19 points, 11 rebounds, 8 assists and two blocks in his team’s opening win vs. Team Takeover, and scoring in double figures in all four of his other games.

So far, Filipowski has offers from Duke, Ohio State, Syracuse, Iowa, Indiana, Michigan, Notre Dame, Miami, Illinois, Vanderbilt, Louisville, UCLA, and North Carolina, among others. He’s taken official visits, to Syracuse, Ohio State, Indiana, Iowa, and Duke. The Blue Devils are considered the early favorite, but clearly, Kentucky liked what they saw in North Augusta.

Jack was at the Peach Jam and will have more about Filipowski later tonight. Until then, check out his highlights.

Filipowski is the tenth player Kentucky has offered in the 2022 class, joining Skyy Clark (committed), Jaden Bradley, Keyonte Georgie, Shaedon Sharpe, Emoni Bates, Chris Livingston, Brandon Miller, Jalen Duren, and Dereck Lively II.

I may be too cynical, but I read this as bad news with respect to the Duran recruitment. Hope I’m wrong. Jack ?? How do you see it ?

You do understand we;re recruiting Duren as a reclass, right? Everyone believes he’s gonna reclass right after Peach Jam.

Different classes ultimately since it’s all but guaranteed Duren reclasses.

    The new Christian Lakner maybe?
I see LOTS of reasons for Cal to offer him…Cal trying to get Duren to move, Cal knows Duren is coming here AND is reclassifying, Cal knows Duren is going elsewhere, Cal is already trying to stick the new Duke coach in the eye, Cal’s old UMass connections reached out to Cal, and on and on and on!

I am happy that Cal seems more energetic about recruiting! That’s what has been missing.

Matthew Hurt and Ryan Poop Tooth Kelly might be the better comparisons

Filipowski is Christian Laettner reincarnated and he won’t be a 4* for long. Maybe we, or Syracuse, can pull the upset, but he looks all Duke all the way.

That gold chain guarantees a Duke commitment.

I like how he’s taken 4 visits to 5 different schools. Journalistic editing isn’t what it used to be….

Yes he is a Duke lean, but he won’t be playing for Coach K that might make a difference.

As usual, the jealousy of Duke is everywhere in these comments.

Jealous of Duke? Never been anything to be jealous about when it comes to Duke… They play in a 4,000 seat pole barn! Wait till the Coach K farewell tour, will be a nonstop whistle fest, Duke players flopping all over the court like fish out of water. They have had some good teams, but BBN has never been jealous. That’s just ignorant. Nothing there to be jealous of!
