Kentucky offers 2020 five-star wing Johnny Juzang

John Calipari and his staff went out west to visit 2020 five-star wing Johnny Juzang, and they liked him so much they offered him a scholarship. Compton Magic, Juzang’s adidas squad, shared the news on Twitter minutes ago:

Juzang, a 6-foot-7 shooting guard/small forward out of Studio City, CA, is considered a consensus top-25 prospect in the class of 2020. ESPN lists him as the No. 19 overall prospect in the class, while Rivals has him at No. 22 and 247 Sports lists him at No. 24 overall. He already holds offers from Kansas, Virginia, UCLA, USC, and others.

Here’s what 247 Sports has to say about Juzang’s game:

“Scoring wing with good size and long arms,” the scouting report says. “Shoot-first but much improved efficiency. Big time threat off the dribble as a shooter from both midrange and three. Can knock down threes in bunches from perimeter and also has a strong one- and two-dribble pull-up game. Can get to the basket but is most comfortable scoring with his jumper. Size, length and athleticism give him upside as versatile defender. Can improve shot selection and handle. Projects as productive high major wing with NBA upside due to his shot making ability at his size.”

Kentucky has now offered eleven prospects in the 2020 class:

  • PG: Jeremy Roach, Sharife Cooper
  • SG: Jalen Green, BJ Boston
  • CG: RJ Hampton
  • SF: Jalen Johnson, Scottie Barnes, Johnny Juzang
  • PF: Isaiah Todd
  • C: Cliff Omoruyi, N’Faly Dante

Could be the greatest kid ever. But we just lost the Jemarlboro Man. It’s been a while since we had a CALI kid stick around. Yes, the game and recruiting has changed immensely in the last 17 years. But it will be a while until another Tayshaun Prince arrives at KENTUCKY to fulfill his dream and ours.

Not sure how much he would contribute next year but he could reclassify if he wants to. Already 18
