Good get. It’s going to hurt when this kid de-commits.

    1. binarysolo

Yep. Set the countdown clock to the inevitable “Please respect my decision I will not take interviews” social media post.

    2. satcheluk

If he signs then you have to turn in your BBN fan card for being a negative douche.

  2. N-UR-i

    Welcome home young man!

  3. Smyrna_Cat

    No more Yahtzee??

    1. EastKYCAT

Yahtzee is a wishful thinking game. We are in the business of now in the “ITS SUPPOSE TO HAPPEN” Lets go CATS!!!

  4. Mad Max

    Hope this guy sticks!!!

  5. 2Dogs

Landing a commitment and landing a player are 2 totally different concepts. But it sounds good for now.

  6. StuckinLville

Let’s worry about it in December.

  7. TomEcaster

KSR in 6 Months: 4 star defensive tackle decommits from Kentucky after official visit to Alabama.

    1. sprtphan

Refuse to get excited about any commitments.

    2. TomEcaster

Exactly. I will be very excited if we have a signature on national signing day, but until then, doesn’t really matter

    3. chris43

      Exactly

    4. Blue Bill

Soooo should they just not report when someone commits? Damn.

    5. CATandMONKEY

Actually, they should not report a commit.

The entire “commitment” situation should not even be “a thing.”

Commitment should be accompanied by a signed letter.

Would love to see this guy in blue but the commitment process has taught me to be at best, skeptical when it comes to new players.

  8. kykats

    GOCATS!!

  9. bwise

Ksr has missed on basically everything in terms of fb recruitment lately. I’ll wait till he signs to be happy.

    1. Blue Bill

So don’t report at all when someone commits? I know a lot of them flip, but it still warrants reporting who has committed.

    2. mm40

Please share what they have missed on.

    3. CATandMONKEY

      What have they missed?
They are reporting in this case.
Plenty of criticism to heap on KSR for reporting, editing and opinion issues however this one is NOT on KSR.

  10. jaws2

I really like the looks of this guy and certainly hope he sticks to his ‘commitment’.

  11. Heavy C

Yea…sad but true. It’s pure silliness till they sign. Seems like we’ve had many more upper tier recruits decommit than actually sign. Maybe that’s just perception.

    1. BluemanGreen

sad but so true. anymore when you see someone of this caliber commit this early its just like “yea right” because you know one of the big name schools will come vulture them away

    2. Miller45

We’ve figured that out the hard way

  12. Smyrna_Cat

    Interesting perspective.

  13. TomKat9698

When is the next signing date?

    1. ClutchCargo

Starts December 18. Let’s hope for an early Christmas present.

  14. imabucket

While Most of what you all are saying about verbal commitments to Kentucky is true , one thing that shall make us feel good is that he already has offers from multiple other big name schools(Georgia included) . So I feel this verbal commitments actually means a little more then from someone that has offers from schools outside of the power 5 conferences .

    1. makeitstop

My thoughts exactly. Initially I assumed “another potential late decommit” but a) he already has offers from schools like Georgia and Florida and b) it’s not like he was waiting on an offer from his dream school in the state he lived in, like Ohio St, for a kid from Dayton. So, I feel better… but when they sign, it’s “Yahtzee” not when they “commit.”

    2. CATandMONKEY

Saban would rather have every 4* in the SEC sitting on his bench than to see them during the season across the line of scrimmage.

  15. Miller45

A program being able to demonstrate that it can get players ready for the NFL consistently and has a body of work to prove that is monumental though

  16. bluedog79

They almost never hold their word and come play for us. If its a 4 or 5 star I don’t even pay much attention. These players always turn on us. I hate it. WE NEED THESE TYPE DUDES.

  17. Tedington

It’s not “negative” that so.many feel he will decommit. Its simply a discernable pattern that weve seen repeated in the past. HOWEVER, the law averages say that eventually some of these big time commits will stick. Might very well be this kid. The important thing is to keep getting the commits so more and more might stick and get the momentum rolling

  18. livingood4UK

My guess is this kid sticks. The number of players we have drafted this year helps tremendously especially on the defensive side of the ball. And I think that with the youth we have on that side of the ball as far as coaches is also gonna pay dividends on the recruiting trail!

  19. bbn606

    He moves like a linebacker.

  20. HoosierCatfan

Good Lord what a bunch of negative Nancy’s! Every school has to deal with kids flipping, just look at the ones we’ve flipped to come here on signing day. Show this kid some love, getting a commitment from a kid like this with offers he’s already got is AWESOME! Hope they seal the deal! GO CATS!

  21. stunninsteve

Stick with us, young man. Come wreak havoc on the interior line and you’ll shine like a diamond at UK. Much easier to grab attention when you help build a defense instead of going somewhere else and getting lost in the shuffle of 4 and 5 star guys
