Kentucky Is Back At The Cliff Tonight At 6:30

The BatCats had three days off following their series against #1 Florida and will be back in action tonight against Morehead State at 6:30 ET. The Eagles come into tonight with a record of 25-16 and a 12-6 record in OVC play. For Kentucky, the Cats have won seven of the last eight games against MSU. Here are some reasons to come to the Cliff tonight to check out the Cats vs. Eagles.

There are only seven more games remaining at the Cliff. That’s right, the final year at the Cliff only has seven games left. Tonight will be the final midweek game at the Cliff as well as the final in-state matchup in regular season play. Hopefully, the Cats will host some postseason games down the road.

The team is finally rested. In the span of ten days, the Cats played seven games, including six games against top 20 teams and one against Louisville. UK got three days off following their series against Florida before tonight’s game. The bullpen desperately needed a break after several long outings over the last week.

Morehead will be competitive tonight. Midweeks are never a breeze. The Eagles gave Louisville all they wanted in a 16-10 loss earlier this season before beating Kansas once in a weekend series. Garret Rogers will start for MSU on the mound. The junior righty has thrown only ten innings this season, so pretty much everything he brings to the table will be a surprise.

The Eagles hit for a lot of power. The ballpark in Morehead helps out their power numbers a great deal, but the Eagles can hit for some pop. Led by Trevor Snyder’s ten home runs, the Eagles have hit 51 home runs in 41 games this season. Outfielder Niko Hulsizer missed a portion of the season, but he has still hit seven home runs in 20 games. Hulsizer won the College Home Run Derby last season against Kentucky’s Tristan Pompey. With Morehead State’s power and Kentucky’s relentless offense, there will be a lot of runs scored at the Cliff tonight.

If you can’t make it to the Cliff, Keith Madison and Dick Gabriel will be on the call at 6:30 on SEC Network Plus. For Twitter updates, follow @TreyHuntsmanKSR.
