Kentucky is a Finalist for Two Talented Cornerbacks

Two cornerbacks have their sights set on the University of Kentucky.

Within 24 hours of each other, two prep stars from the state of Michigan narrowed their list of schools to seven. Kentucky was included in each list.

Originally from River Rouge, Michigan, Kamal Hadden currently plays for Independence C.C. in Kansas. Recruited by Steve Clinkscale, Hadden is the fifth-ranked junior college cornerback and No. 28 player overall in 247 Sports’ JUCO rankings. Auburn, Nebraska, Texas Tech, UCF, Washington State and West Virginia are also finalists. He plans on announcing his decision “by the end of September.”

The other cornerback considering the Cats is also one of Steve Clinkscale’s targets from the state of Michigan. Maxwell Hairston narrowed his finalists to seven in similar photoshop fashion. Along with Kentucky, Hairston is considering Kansas, Minnesota, Purdue, Rutgers, Virginia Tech and Washington State.

The Wildcats are in excellent shape to land the three-star cornerback who described UK as his dream school. Could he be joined by another elite athlete from Michigan? I’m not talking about Hadden. Four-star lineman Rayshaun Benny chimed in with an interesting Tweet following Hairston’s announcement.

Hairston’s final decision will be revealed on UK’s first day of football practice this summer, Monday, Aug. 17.

Why are we recruiting 3 stars and Juccos now? We been getting nothing but 4 and 5 stars the last couple of years ! We gave Vince 1 million dollars and now we not getting Bama talent anymore .

Yeah I’ve been wondering the same. The program was on a roll with 4 stars and now they seem few and far between. We develop great players but would rather start with more talent to develop.
Some here say stars don’t matter because our coaches know what they are looking for. Maybe true. But it’s a fact top programs are directly related to top recruits.

I think a few are high 3 stars that could possibly end up being 4’s.

These ratings mean little to nothing Justin Rogers was a top 10 ranked recruit before committing to Kentucky and he instantly dropped to a 4 star it shows that even rivals and 24/7 can be biased not to mention we’ve had quite a few 2 stars wind up being all sec bud Dupree zadarius smith and josh Allen just to name a few of the most recent ones #inbigdawgwetrust

Justin roger was top 10 in Rivals. I never seen him anywhere near that on 247. This year is down from last year, but we have always had way more 3 star players. We had 3 – 4 star players in ’19 and 7 in ’20. Heck we have not won the state the last few years

247 had him peak at 13 so pretty close to top 10 like I said but the point is we are still recruiting with the best of them. It’s a lot easier for Louisville to win the state under new coaching staff because that means new promises to be made but I think u forget how much we dominated them just a year ago with JJ weaver and Jared casey. Also this year we are ranked a top 25 class when we are high 30s the year before

Louisville isn’t winning anything. In 19′ we lost 6, 4 star in state kids to out of state team. Weaver and Casey were 7-8. Last year we had 2 top 50 kids in KY that went to ND and Clemson. I don’t remember Rogers being that high on 247 but when he was the highest it was as an OT. When they switched him to DT he dropped.

Players going to out of state football powerhouses like notre dame (no longer a force but their reputation is far better than ours) and Clemson is something that will take years and years of winning to prevent but we are recruiting strong enough to win 10 games a season regardless so it’s not like the sky is falling we are in a much better place than we were under joker

We are in a great place but the posters are asking why are we recruiting 3 star recruits, we were only getting 4 and 5 star? We aren’t getting Bama talent anymore.a few more about not getting the 4 star players. These questions and statements are crazy!. We have never gotten Bama talent. We have never mainly got 4 and 5 star recruits.. I said yes this class is down but most is because no recruiting and no visits. That is were UK thrives at. We will be fine. I just don’t get the commebts
