Kentucky is a Finalist for a Football Legacy Recruit

@AndruPhillisp

@AndruPhillips

Kentucky is gaining momentum for a three-star legacy recruit.

A week after Andru Phillips attended Kentucky’s 2019 Blue/White Game, the cornerback trimmed his list of finalists to five — Louisville, Tennessee, Virginia Tech, N.C. State and Kentucky.

@druphillips

A top 15 player in the talent-rich state of South Carolina, Phillips actually grew up in Louisville. His father, Carlos, played in the AAAA state championship with Owensboro before signing to play for Jerry Claiborne’s Wildcats. Carlos Phillips lettered for UK in 1989 as a linebacker.

The younger Phillips could follow in his father’s footsteps. The 5’11” three-star prospect will return to Lexington next weekend for an official visit, the same weekend another legacy recruit, Beau Allen, will take his official visit. Phillips intends to announce his final decision July 8.

There’s one thing you need to know about Phillips’ game: he isn’t afraid to lower his shoulder.

    Disappointing how many of these we’ve lost recently.

      No you idiot, that is a great thing. For years schools have lost recruits, I mean top schools like Bama, LSU, OSU, UF, FSU etc. Why? Because they had commits that everyone else wanted. We did not lose many in the past. Why? Usually the kids we made an offer to the better teams did not want, we were usually the best offer that kid got. Now this staff gets in on kids that many of the so called great programs want. Sure we will lose some of them but some we don’t. Is why we are 10-3 and Citrus Bowl champs instead of 3-9 and home watching.

    Maybe just call the kid by his name? I’m sure he would like to be known for his name and not a “legacy recruit”

    Read the name Allen in a legacy recruit story and thought “JOSH?!??”. I’m sad.

    Ummm……can we not fact check before writing. Freddie Maggard would be a great source. Carlos played linebacker.

    Interesting he named 5 schools but UK is the only one he showed his face. Tea leaves?

    Whenever ksr writes these type posts it’s pretty much like clock work – it cues the players signing with another team , revealing that we actually had no chance lol . In 3,2,1……. >

    I have a silly question…WHO cranks out these graphics for recruits?

    It seems that every elite recruit has these impressive graphics to go along with their process…and I know they can’t all be THAT skilled with photo apps.
