One of the top high school basketball targets in America will begin his official visit to the University of Kentucky on Monday.

Anthony Edwards, the top-ranked shooting guard in the Class of 2019, will land at Blue Grass Airport this afternoon to spend the next couple of days on UK’s campus. He is ranked fourth in the 247Sports Composite Rankings, but 247Sports considers him the No. 1 overall player in the country, regardless of position.

Anthony Edwards
Shooting Guard | 6-5 | 215 lbs.
Atlanta, GA | Holy Spirit Preparatory School
ESPN No. 4 | 1 SG Top247 No. 1 | 1 SG
Rivals No. 3 | 1 SG 247 Comp.  No. 4 | 1 SG

Edwards took over 247Sports’s top spot from former UK target James Wiseman when he reclassified from the 2020 class back in November. Kentucky’s main competition for his commitment is Florida State, but the next couple of days could change that if things go well. (It’d be nice if Lexington wasn’t covered in snow.)

Edwards will of course take in the sights and sounds of Rupp Arena tomorrow night when UK hosts No. 22 Mississippi State.

You would think Hagans and Montgomery, two Ga. kids, could be the best to escort/talk to Edwards about pluses of playing for UK. Might want Herro as well, to inform Edwards what a LOT of snow really looks like!

It would be nice but we have enough backcourt options that will made Edwards goes elsewhere

Edwards is a starter and the best player on any team in the country next year. Unless of course Barrett or Zion comes back. Haha. Anyway, I Absolutely love who we have coming in, but this kid is the truth on the court and he’s going to be a superstar with attitude. Lol. The kid isn’t worried one bit about who’s at any school and Will be the best player in college next year. Even if he doesn’t come here, he’s going to be hard not to watch play when his team is on. I’ll be honest, if Zion Williamson was on any other team in the country, I’d have to watch a few games. Lol. Just can’t hardly watch Duke. Although I did watch the last half of the Virginia game and he’s gotten better this year. Well growing up more I should say. Zion will be a good pro player no doubt and help whichever team he goes to, but I swear I believe RJ will be one of those superstars that just wins championships. Who really know how the future will turn out but really bud, Andrews got everything to be unguardable. I sure hope we get him. Like old Bledso said, Talk about turning shiiit around!! Hahahahaha.

Don’t get your hopes up. “Not sayin just sayin”- one of many annoying Jones comments.

It’s been pretty clear to anyone with a tiny bit of knowledge that this kid isn’t coming to UK.

It’s very interesting that BigolBlew actually thinks someone else is annoying when he’s the most annoying buffoon on the planet.

Beginning to think the Boy Wonder and Ashton are one and done. If so, we have a need and a spot.

Would love to have him but don’t see any of our guards leaving after this year. We’ve missed out on all the top guards this year but will be great to have the experience for next year. Does anyone think Hero or Ashton will really leave?

I can definitely see Ashton leaving. And possibly Herro, but less likely. I selfishly hope they don’t.

I mean, yes guys, we’ve heard some people say that he could pick FL St!! Ohh Well. Should we not even try to get him?? I’m not trying to be harsh but I’ve got a whole lot of faith in Coach Cal and once he gets the guys he really wants on UKs Campus, he’s been known to work his magic a few times. Hell a few weeks ago this kid wasn’t even thinking about us, (or so we were told by people that give their opinions). Now he’s in Lexington Ky, with John Calipari having a serious conversation about what he could do for his future.

Again, I’m not trying to be a BigolBlueasswhole, LMFAO. and he very well could go anywhere else for all I know, I just have to think that this is a pretty positive turn of events and I’m pretty excited about the prospects of him in Blue and White.

As long as Coach Cal runs this ship I’m going to believe that he’ll try his best to get the best players. Of course we have missed a few lately but heck we’ve got our fair share and I’ve been proud of Cal from the first day they announced him coming here. I know all of you, except the one pos I’ll not name, Love coach too, but if this kid really listens to Cal, and gives him an honest to goodness chance to talk about the business side and what he can do for him, I think we’ve got to at least see what happens.

I know I’m crazy sometimes, but I believe if this kid wants to be the best possible player he can be and get 100% out of next year, he’ll come here. Now he’ll still be a hell of a player, but he could get better with Cal. To me that would be the difference if I were the one with that kind of future on the line.

I’ll say one more thing too. I know RJ and Zion are having really good to great years, but if they’re doing that there, I could only imagine how much better Cal could make them by the end of the year. Reddish may be the one that ends up wishing he would’ve came here though and he would’ve improved more that any of them under Coach Cal. Ok I’ll quit now. Lol. I just want what you guys want !! Great teams competing for the title. To me we’re doing just that, and this year could turn into something special. It’s great to be a Kentucky Wildcat fan people. Woohoo. Now everyone say it with me. Cal, get this kid now. Lol. Thanks guys.

When they get on campus they commit? Have you been living in a cave the last 3 years?

Haha. Now man you know I didn’t say anywhere in my post that “they commit when they get on campus!” I mean it’s right there above you if you’d like to check again. Lol. No I’m not in a cave, nor have I been under that damn rock everyone talks about all the time. Haha.

BigolBlue, I know we haven’t got the top 1-5 ranked players the last couple of years, but we’re getting some really good 6-30 range players that may actually stay two or three years. We Had a few stay from last year and probably will have at least a few stay this year. Maybe even talk PJ, and Nick to stay another year. In my opinion they both need another year, and would really benefit from it.

To be honest, this is exactly what I’ve been hoping for, for years. Some upper classman, mixed with a couple star freshmen. I think Cal has really changed his recruiting after watching Villanova the last three years and going more that way. Can you imagine if Cal didn’t have to potty train the whole team for the first three months? Lol. He already takes them farther than he should be able to! With him being able to add two or three top ten players each year, we could go on one of those all time great runs and may even get a smile out of you. Lol. Thanks man.

For me personally, I think if Nick and PJ did return and the guys who should stay, actually stay, with what we have coming in, we have enough to win the Championship, But by some chance you could add Edwards, just go ahead and write it down and send that bigoltrophy to Lexington Kentucky.

I hope my above post didn’t come off Like I don’t believe we can win it all this year, because I absolutely, 100% think we always have a chance to win every game we play, as long as we have Coach John Calipari. Also, I think this team has grown every game and got better and better. They’re improving every day, and you can tell how much they like each other and how hard they’re playing for each other. If we keep improving like we have all year, we’re going to end up in the FINAL FOUR this year with a chance to get the championship.
