Kentucky Football is a Finalist for a Four-Star Athlete

The Kentucky football team is in the running for one of the best athletes in America.

Four-star all-purpose back Elijah Young trimmed his list of finalists to five Monday afternoon. Tennessee, South Carolina, Mississippi State, Missouri and Kentucky made the cut.

The Knoxville native is the seventh-ranked all-purpose back in America, according to 247 Sports. Whether he’s lined up as a running back, wide receiver or cornerback, Young does it all. Built to operate out of the slot at the next level (5’10” 165 pounds), the state champion sprinter ran a 10.74 100-meter dash as a sophomore.

Tennessee first offered Young as a true freshman. Recruited by Dean Hood, Kentucky got in on the action with a scholarship offer last summer. He’s visited Lexington a few times and should make the trip up I-75 at least once more before deciding later this fall.

Vince Marrow would have gotten Zion. Just saying.

It looks like he has good vision and is shifty. He might make a good replacement for Bowden but I would be surprised if TN lets him out of the state.

I do not doubt this staff as they have done incredible things. That said if they get this kid from the back yard of UT that will be an amazing feat.
