In a battle of the highest-profile high school basketball players in the country, future Kentucky Wildcat B.J. Boston and his Sierra Canyon (CA) Trail Blazers – the same team with Lebron James’ son, Bronny – will take on Jonathan Kuminga and the St. Patrick (NJ) Celtics tonight at 9 p.m. on ESPN2.
Boston is a lengthy five-star recruit that has been a Wildcat commitment since late November. He’s drawn comparisons to Brandon Ingram and has the potential to be a one-and-done when he makes it to Lexington. Kuminga, on the other hand, is still undecided. The five-star wing is the No. 1 overall player in the class of 2021 and considered a future top-3 pick.
Sierra Canyon comes into the game with a 14-1 record, featuring other future star recruits alongside Boston and Bronny such as Zaire Williams (No. 5 in 2020) and Dwyane Wade’s son, Zaire Wade. And if St. Patrick High School sounds familiar, that’s because it’s also where former ‘Cats Nick Richards and Michael Kidd-Gilchrist (but also former Duke point guard Kyrie Irving) attended before turning to college.
If you want a chance to see a future recruit and another one that could possibly make his way to Kentucky, tune into the worldwide leader tonight.
