Kentucky among top 13 schools for high four-star OT Kiyaunta Goodwin

One of the nation’s best recruits is feeling the Kentucky love.
Kiyaunta Goodwin, a high-rated four-star offensive tackle playing up in Charlestown, IN, announced his top 13 list of schools on Saturday morning and the Wildcats made the cut. Listed at 6-foot-7 and weighing roughly 300 pounds, Goodwin has been tabbed by both 247 Sports (No. 54) and Rivals (No. 54) as one of the country’s top 60 overall prospects in the class of 2022 and a top 3 prospect out of Indiana.
The rest of Goodwin’s top 13 is loaded with an impressive group of schools that include Michigan, Michigan State, Indiana, Ohio State, Arizona State, Miami (FL), Oregon, Southern California, Alabama, Florida State, Louisville, and Clemson.

A native of Louisville, Goodwin began his high school career at Holy Cross before transferring to Ballard and eventually moving to Charlestown High School in Indiana where he plays now. Before COVID-19 hit, he had visited the Kentucky campus on multiple occasions, and during this past summer and into the fall, his recruitment saw a spike in activity. Goodwin lost over 125 pounds from the 2019 season to the 2020 season and now holds 50-plus scholarship offers. Per 247 Sports, he jumped from a national ranking of 587 all the way up to No. 54 in a little over 10 months.
UK was the first high-major program to offer Goodwin, doing so when he was in eighth grade all the way back in the summer of 2017, and that loyalty is still paying dividends years later. While 247 Sports has logged three Crystal Ball predictions for Goodwin to Ohio State, all of them came in 2020. Alabama and Clemson are also considered as teams near the top of his list.
