Kentucky a Finalist for Four-Star Cornerback

The Kentucky football team is one step closer to landing a four-star cornerback.  This afternoon Jay Ward released his four finalists and the Cats made the cut.

If Kentucky can secure a signature on National Signing Day, it would be Ward’s second commitment to the Cats.  The Moultrie, Georgia native originally committed to UK over the summer, but backed off his pledge after LSU entered the picture.  Kentucky never lost communication.  Vince Marrow traveled to Georgia on Tuesday for an in-home visit with Ward.

I saved the best news for last: Kentucky will get Ward’s final official visit next weekend, just days before National Signing Day.  Things are looking good between UK and the nation’s No. 30 cornerback.

UPDATE: Ward coming in THIS WEEKEND for Kansas game, along with visits from Marlin Devonshire (4* corner), Devonte Lee (4* WR) and possibly others from this year’s class, in addition to a ton of guys for junior day in the 2020 class. This could be a HUGE recruiting weekend for UK football.

I think the fans at Rupp need to let Ward, Lee and Devonshire know we know they’re in the building.

Not sure how many stars the corners on this years team had but they were good enough for me.

Westry and DB came in highly rated though Westry seemed better his FR year than any other year and never lived up to his potential. Still good but not what was expected. DB had some lapses but was pretty solid all along. Hope they {and all others} get a shot in the NFL and do well for themselves.

Sure is nice to still be talking football this far into the basketball season! It’s not just hype anymore.

YEP. Renewed my season tix yesterday and can’t wait for the Spring game. I have to drive over 3 hours and really need it to be a 4 pm or later start time. Plus I think a later start time and, like someone mentioned earlier, maybe UK doing fireworks after or having a post game concert like they do before home games would be nice. Lets celebrate last season and the Citrus Bowl win just one more time as we head to 2019, was the best season I have seen in my lifetime. I was in Tampa when PSU beat us in the Outback Bowl {lived down there at that time. Now living in Ohio but was in Orlando and watching those guys doing snow angels in the confetti and Benny eating the fruit out of the trophy and the many of BBN that stayed until the players left the field was awesome. Have some video of it that I have watched about 500 times.
