Keldon Johnson injured in national quarterfinal game

Not even a full day after shining in the final minutes of the McDonald’s All-American Game, UK signee Keldon Johnson flew to New York to join his Oak Hill squad for the GEICO Nationals. Oak Hill is one of the favorites to win high school basketball’s national championship, but those championship hopes took a small hit when Johnson suffered an injury in Thursday’s quarterfinal game.

Seen below in a video from Shaun Smith over at Go Big Blue Country, Johnson appears to roll his left ankle when he comes down on an opposing player’s foot. Johnson hobbled off the court on his own accord, but was taken to the locker room for further evaluation.

Obviously we hope the injury is not a severe one, for the sake of Oak Hill’s title hopes and Johnson’s long term future.

We’ll update when updated.

Karma is ‘action.’ It doesn’t visit… and you aren’t the messenger.

Kids are wimps… however, Keldon Johnson is no kid, and no wimp.

The rabbi is wise… I’d add kids are what we make them. You plant corn, you get corn.

And don’t forget Jeff Shepherds ankle
back in ‘98. Why are we the only school with ankle injuries?

His coach said at halftime that there was a little swelling & they would hold him out if they kept the lead. Johnson sat on the bench with his ankle elevated with ice. Oak Hill won by 20+.

Not just us; Michael Porter last year, and Zion suffered a thumb injury last night, and is consulting a specialist. Looked like Keldon will be o.k.

It’s bad when your sock looks like a softball is in it. Happened to me in high school and it’s never the same. Landed on a coaches foot and my foot stayed there but my ankle touched the ground. Unless you repair it and I didn’t. Now 32 I wish I did but I’m no wimp.lol just a gimp.

When I was a kid I would do what Ronnie Lott did and just cut it off and play through it. I’m typing this right now with my nose

Mentally tough kids are tough kids. Didn’t Tyler Ulis need stitches mid game? Came back and won. That little gymnast landed on one foot to win the gold – 30 years later I still have no idea how. My daughter got tossed off a horse over a fence, they retrieved the horse, she won the event. There’s still tough kids. U want a snowflake? Teach them they’re victims. You want a winner, teach them no one but the family cares how they feel, they care how they perform. Of course my dad played for Rupp and taught me u find a good loser I’ll show u a guy who gets lots of practice. Am I right or wrong?

Good points but Rabbi Li hasn’t spoken yet and we all know he is the wisest Rabbi of them all.
