Kahlil Whitney includes Kentucky in Final 4

Fresh off his official visit to Lexington, five-star small forward Kahlil Whitney narrowed his list of schools to four; as expected, Kentucky made the cut. Louisville, SMU, Miami, and Florida State did not.

The 6’6″ wing from Roselle Catholic (Isaiah Briscoe’s alma mater) plans to make his decision in the next few weeks, and it’s looking more and more like he’ll be a Cat. He earned an offer from Kentucky after putting up 23 points and eight rebounds in front of John Calipari at the Peach Jam last month.

Kid has a good shot and moves well without the ball. I like the style he plays

Someone plz explain why more blue bloods are not going after this dude? Odd list even when he had 8 schools.

Haven’t you asked this before? Maybe he doesn’t want to play 2-3 Zone his entire college career, or take money or fake classes.

Ha – good reasons. Just seems odd to be so highly touted but we stand alone. Usually when it’s the other way and we’re not involved the rumors are something is sketchy with the player/his entourage.

UNC, VA, KU and Wisc were among the 13 offers he received. Not shabby. Programs don’t often pursue a recruit with earnest when they sense he is interested in a particular school other than theirs, which may be the case with Whitney and the “blue bloods.”
