Never one to just sit at home on a Wednesday night, John Calipari is back on the recruiting trail. According to Jake Weingarten, Calipari will watch five-star forward Paolo Banchero tonight in Seattle, Washington. Banchero’s O’Dea squad takes on Eastside Catholic in the Metro League Tournament Semifinals at 5 p.m. PT.

Banchero is the No. 4 player in the 2021 class, but there are still rumors he could reclassify to 2020. A Tennessee assistant is also expected to be in attendance tonight, while Gonzaga’s Mark Few watched Banchero put up over 30 points in O’Dea’s win over West Seattle on Monday.

Kentucky is one of nine schools on Banchero’s list, along with Duke, Gonzaga, Tennessee, North Carolina, Georgetown, Baylor, Memphis, and Washington. The Cats sure could use him next season…

What a great name, but this guy can’t hold a candle to Moises Globaly.

I know he’s close location-wise to Gonzaga, and a 5star, but I bet Mark Few would recruit him if he was a 2-star. Paolo Banchero just sounds like a Gonzaga player. Seems like Mark Few’s rosters are always like one guy named Adam Morrison and the rest are crazy hard to pronounce names.

Kid is a lock next year. Best all around class we’ve ever had.
