Jodie Meeks’ Sunday Links

Seriously, how could you not love Jodie Meeks? Yesterday the former Wildcat was in Rupp Arena again, this time not draining long distance 3’s, but walking across the stage to receive his college diploma. The current LA Laker has come back to UK every single off-season to finish up his degree in business marketing, and now he’s done. Claps to you Jodie, claps to you. On to today’s links…

-Kentucky linebacker (and my former classmate) Avery Williamson was drafted in the 5th round of the NFL draft yesterday by the Tennessee Titans. Jennifer Smith writes about how Williamson will now have a chance to play for the team he grew up cheering for.

The Miami Heat lost their first playoff game of 2014 to the Brooklyn Nets last night, while the Spurs took a commanding 3-0 lead over Portland on the road.

-Andrew Adkins of iSports debates whether or not John Calipari could be considered the greatest coach of all time in UK history. What do you think?

-Five (now former) Kentucky women’s basketball players walked across the graduation stage yesterday as well. Check out some great pictures from @UKHoopCats of all the festivities.

-Jerry Tipton wrote the most Jerry Tipton article ever. I really can’t even preview it. It is eerily similar to KSR’s Not Jerry Tipton but…this is the real deal guys.

No. Cal simply needs to put in a lot more time, and get some more milestones to even be in the running. Consider this: Roy Williams has done more at UNC. I know, you’re putting up your dukes…. but the facts are on paper.

I didn’t think Jerry Tipton’s column was negatve at all It was the type of stuff you guys do all the time

The diffeence is you call your writing style as being the most outrageous manner possible, and his writing as negative. For some reason he really peeves you guys. It is a classic case of peevious envy.

Tipton is like an old grouchy version of Freddy Kruger. You pay no attention to him and he will go away…..hopefully……someday.

At this point it would be absurd to think he is the best. If it all ended today he would be number 3 behing Rupp, number one and Cal’s whipping boy at U of L.
