Jedrick Wills had a good time at Notre Dame

Jedrick Wills’ trip to Notre Dame has the Irish in good position against the Wildcats in Wills’ recruitment. The Lexington native, a will-be senior at Lafayette High, paid a visit to South Bend this week for the first time in almost a year.

If his Twitter account is any indication of how things went, Mark Stoops should have some worries about his top in-state target.

Wills told Rivals.com, “I’m comfortable (at Notre Dame) but still undecided on where I want to go.”

The five-star offensive tackle, ranked No. 17 in the entire class, is considering 10 schools: Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, LSU, Michigan, Michigan State, Notre Dame, Ohio State and Tennessee.

Having his high school teammate, Walker Wood, on board with Kentucky will help, but it’ll still take some heavy recruiting to keep the big man home.

At this time I would like to share a photo of Wills and our own Ryan Lemond:

After the decommitment earlier this week from a young man that led us along like a nerdy girlfriend while he was looking at the cheerleader, I’m not getting excited about anyone until signing day.

And yes, I do wish the young man well in his endeavors at Alabama. I just wish these kids wouldn’t say they are fully committed if they aren’t I don’t mind them deciding what’s best for them.

I’ve seen that picture of Jedrick Willis on KSR countless times over the past year, and I finally get the T-shirt design. A Michael Jordan peace symbol!

These recruiting visits are so goofy.

Basically it’s, “Hey, do ya wanna come over for a playdate? We’ll play dress-up and take pictures!”

We better just start recruiting his little mini-me from that ND pic. However, our program will probably look the same when his college years roll around…

Call me when he’s enrolled at UK. Then I’ll get excited.

Unless we make a bowl game, I don’t see any top-50 players having UK in their sights. We got the recruits early in Stoops’ regime simply with the promise of playing time at a supposedly up-and-coming SEC school. If we don’t produce some results in the next year or two, that is totally out the window. I suspect rival programs are already using the late season meltdowns of the past two years against us in recruiting.
