Jarred Vanderbilt says Kentucky’s going “all the way” next year

I’ll give the 2017 class one thing: they’re confident. In another video from USA Today’s Jason Jordan, Jarred Vanderbilt essentially guaranteed a national championship next season.

“We’re going all the way next year. You heard it here first,” Vanderbilt said. “All the way.”

2018 National Champs?

“Yup,” Vanderbilt said. “Put that on Instagram, Snapchat, Twitter. We’re going all the way.”

Well, alright. Let’s do it.

We’ll probably get more quotes from Vanderbilt in the coming days as he, Quade Green, Mohamed Bamba, Kevin Knox, and Team USA prepare to face Shai Alexander, Nick Richards, and the World Team in Friday night’s Nike Hoop Summit. Until then, enjoy the video of his proclamation after the jump (stupid autoplay).

Well, I like his confidence. It’s a little early for predictions though.

Would much rather hear this kind of stuff from someone who is actually going to be on the floor.

Not if John Higgins has a say in it

Maybe they win it all, maybe they don’t, but I can tell you one thing – you will never see a Kentucky team maybe even a college basketball team in general, who can touch the 2014-15 team and that team didn’t win it all. In a single elimination format you can never guarantee anything.

I’ll take the attitude as a positive, but as one poster already noted we’ve heard this before.

What’s he supposed to say? “Yea, baby we’re losing in the first weekend, write it down. Whoa!!!”.

Well no but he could have phrased it as “our goal is to win a national championship”

No, be loud, be proud be aggressive. I like the attitude. PC speech has done enough damage to this country already.

Love his attitude and confidence, but Jarred Vanderbilt is going to learn that big time college hoops is MUCH harder than anything he has ever seen before. Just keep working Jarred! Good things will happen (even if we don’t hang a banner).
