Covington’s James “Beetle” Bolden is headed to West Virginia to become a Mountaineer in 2015-16. The Holmes junior point guard committed to Bob Huggins and WVU today over Butler, Purdue, Ohio and Xavier. He also had interest from Tennessee, Cincinnati, Oklahoma State, Mississippi State, Clemson and several others.

Beetle once said Kentucky is his “dream college” but the in-state prospect wasn’t getting a strong look from the Cats. Therefore he is moving to Motown after his senior year at Holmes next season.

Too bad he doesn’t play football. You know Stoops would be on him like white on rice. Keep top in state recruits at home. Go CATS!

Congrats and best of luck to him. It was fun watching him battle Dominique Hawkins in Rupp in lat years state finals. Impressive performance for a Soph.

You must have been the only one having fun since Hawkins and I faced off in the quarters.

Good luck Beetle, but if we play WVU we will have to squash your ass!

He’s having a nice summer in the EYBL. If he has a strong senior season and makes another trip down state I look for him to start getting more instate love and re evaluate his decision. The kid loves the #BBN and would be awesome in the dribble drive. I love the heart Hawkins shows on D, but Bolden made him look silly as a Soph down state.

Guarantee he will be a solid point guard at WVU for 4 years

Guarantee we would beat WVU every game with him at point. That kid could walk on at UK but he would be Hawkins’ backup and Hawkins is our THIRD PG so he needed to go where he will play.
