Josh Allen did return to the field against the Bengals in Week 4 following a knee injury, but his status for this Sunday is still in question.

According to Jacksonville Jaguars (1-3) head coach Doug Marrone, the former Kentucky Wildcat defensive end is being listed as “50-50” heading into his team’s Week 5 matchup against the Houston Texans (0-4).

“I feel like, obviously, it is 50/50. We are just going to try to see where he is at tomorrow. That is how we have him listed,” Marrone said about Allen earlier on Friday.

Allen initially left the field last week during the first half of Jacksonville’s 33-25 loss to Cincinnati with a knee injury, although he eventually made his return before the game came to an end. However, he did not practice at all this week. Allen is one of three key defensive members for the Jags who are dealing with injuries. Linebacker Myles Jack (ankle) and rookie cornerback CJ Henderson (shoulder) are also listed as questionable.

Jacksonville’s defense has already been a bit suspect through four games this season, giving up 30 points in each of its last three outings (all losses). Allen has recorded 13 pressures and two of the team’s four sacks–the second-fewest in the league–and the Jaguars currently sit at 1-3 on the year. With Deshaun Watson entering the pocket this Sunday, Allen’s presence will be especially necessary.
