UPDATE: Jaden McDaniels has set a decision date (or does he?)

(Brian Spurlock-USA TODAY Sports)

(Brian Spurlock | USA TODAY Sports)

One of Kentucky’s top uncommitted targets in the class of 2019 will announce his college decision next week.

After months of crickets from the Jaden McDaniels camp, Scorebook Live Washington reports the five-star forward will announce his college decision Wednesday, May 15.

A McDonald’s All-American and a top ten player in the 2019 class, McDaniels is the second-highest ranked uncommitted recruit, behind only the recently reclassified R.J. Hampton. From the Seattle suburb of Federal Way, many believed for quite some time the hometown school, Washington, was the favorite. That’s all changed in the last week. Now UK holds 85% of the 247 Crystal Ball predictions, including one from Evan Daniels.

Along with Johnny Juzang’s Friday night announcement, it could be a nice week for the Big Blue Nation on the west coast.

UPDATE: 1:01

Apparently, the report from Scorebook Live Washington doesn’t follow what’s happening in McDaniels’ camp. His trainer debunked the decision date a few hours after it was released:

I think if and when UK gets a hold of him, he will quickly flourish into an absolute star.

If we get both Johnny and Jaden added to the fold, and Nick and EJ return, is it safe to say that collectively UK will have the best hair in college BB next year? 🙂

A21 has a solid start. If we want to go back a few more years, you would have to add Kenny Walker with his high top fade, The Blonde Bomber Jay Schidler, and of course Chris Gettlefinger just to give the Gingers their due. :D. And maybe throw in Kyle Macy, when he actually HAD hair. 🙂

If McDaniels announces UK on the 15th (14 days before Blackshear has to pull out of the draft) is it safe to say that Blackshear is going somewhere else? I would love to have either one or BOTH but I would really like a guy with experience over a freshman. Don’t get me wrong, I am THANKFUL if we get either one of them but if we had to choose one, which would you guys rather have?

Where are all the KSR trolls at right now? Calipari has lost his edge blablablaba Hibernating?

Right now Kentucky only has 7 guaranteed scholarship players for next season (Hagans, Quickley, Maxey, Whitney, Allen, Brooks, Sestina). There are currently 7 players Cal is still chasing for next years team (Montgomery, Richards, Juzang, McDaniels, Hampton, Blackshear and Jordan Brown), meaning hypothetically he could add them all except for one. There are also several more reclassification possibilities (Jalen Green, N’Faly Dante, Isaiah Todd, Sharife Cooper) even if they are longshots, they are possibilities. Kentucky Basketball literally never stops. I predict Juzang, McDaniels, Brown (sits out a year) will choose the CATS and Richards returns as Junior Nick Richards. If JNR doesn’t happen, Dante or Todd will become a Cat.

It’s (OR DID HE?) not (OR DOES HE?)? DID HE SET A DATE? That is the question?
