Former Wildcat golfer and Cambellsville native JB Holmes is near the top of The Open leaderboard after three rounds at Royal Troon.
Holmes had a nice third round, finishing with a 69 to move to four-under par for the tournament. He came out hot on the front nine shooting -4 (4 birdies & 5 pars) to tie for third and get within five shots of Mickelson and Stenson, but the back nine was unforgiving (as usual). Two late bogies kept Holmes from becoming the international headline for round three.
If the rain knocks Phil and Henrik off their game, there’s a chance he can make a move tomorrow.
