The Campbellsville native is one shot off the lead heading into the weekend at the U.S Open with a 6-under.
J.B. Holmes finished the first two rounds shooting both 3-under 69, which puts him in a great spot heading into the final rounds.
Holmes mentality heading into today’s play, keep it simple.
“In the end it’s a golf tournament,” Holmes told Golfweek. “I’ve played in a lot of golf tournaments. I’ve played well in big tournaments. I’ve won tournaments.
“… We’re halfway through; you just go out there and as boring as it sounds, you just plot along, one shot at a time.”
The leaderboard is crowded heading into today’s play. Four players lead with 7-under and three are right behind with 6-under including Holmes.
The four-way tie is the most after two rounds at the U.S. Open since 1974 at Winged Foot Golf Club.
As J.B. Holmes reminds us, golf is a cruel, cruel game 😖
