Two future Kentucky Wildcat wide receivers met on the gridiron Friday night. Each put up impressive numbers, but only one could leave the field victorious.

Izayah Cummings caught five passes for 153 yards and a 65-yard touchdown reception in Louisville Male’s 61-22 victory over Butler. His team may have gotten the win, but Cummings was slightly bested by Jordan Watkins, who caught five passes for 168 yards a touchdown. Cummings also left the game with a crown as homecoming king.

KSR was in the house for all of the action and spoke to each player after the game. The wide receivers are excited to share a sideline in Lexington next season.

Fans a going to fall in love with both of these guys. Just imagine if some how Lynn Bowden Jr decided to come back for his Senior year(likely thinking about going to the NFL at the end of the season) Terry would have even more weapons to throw to when he comes back next season. I think Cummings especially has a chance to making a significant impact as freshman as either an X or a Z receiver. Watkins will probably be future replacement for Bowden in the slot or the Y receiver whatever you decide to call it.

Great post Mac. The future is pin great hands with all the young talent coming in. Inside and out, on both lines, the secondary an I also love our future at the Quarterback position. It’s took a long time to build this much depth here, but we’re replacing every position with higher ranked players and our developmental staff is still one of the best in the country. I’m excited to death about our progress over the last few years and it’s getting better every single day. As long as we win as many as we can this year and keep the class together it’s only trending up from here on out.
