The most electric golfer in the world is officially coming to the Bluegrass.
Daly initially planned on playing in The Open at Royal Torbrush. His osteoarthritis has forced him to play in a golf cart on the PGA Tour, but the R&A isn’t so lenient. Once they ruled the winner of the 1995 Open Championship could not bring cart onto the Northern Ireland course, and after he suffered another medical setback, Daly withdrew from the tournament.
Daly can use the golf cart at Keene Trace. Golf.com reports he’s been granted a sponsor’s exemption to play in Barbasol Championship next weekend in Nicholasville, Ky. The colorful two-time major champion swings a big stick and packs some powerful pipes.
Daly has a tradition unlike any other at The Masters. Each year he sets up at the Hooters’ parking lot to sell merchandise. Let’s bring that party to the parking lot outside of KSBar and Grille next weekend.
