Cannot believe Frank Haith would leave Missiouri for Tulsa. I hope James Young will do well in the NBA, still really surprising Randle hasn’t declared yet.

I thought the same thing. What a step-down. Guess he saw more success in that conference than following Florida and Kentucky in the SEC. I’m sure he was expecting a down year at Missouri.

    • DrSayre

Yeah… that was what I was thinking… you could make an argument that Tulsa is already the best job in Conference USA and it’d take a lot for Missouri to get in the same class as Florida and Kentucky

I say this because only a small percentage of players each year will be signed to the D league. Will it hurt how Kentucky currently recruits, absolutely. The players they go after are the ones most likely going straight to the D League.

    Matt / Ryan ,

Haven’t been able to listen to show much this week due to morning conflicts so this may be old news but i’ll go with it anyway .

I’m hearing Cal was so impressed with the majority of the BBN not giving up on team this year and with the way they followed team at each weekend site thru NCAA tourney he is working on a one game road trip for late December to Hawaii as a reward for their loyalty .

Game would be after annual Louisville game and before 1st SEC game which would also keep players from missing any class time and fans could use trip as a special holiday gift to spouse / family .

Info came from source close to UK basketball ………….. like I said this may be old news or maybe no news as I have been wrong a few times in past but not often .

Companies will buy gift cards to any store at a discounted rate. So a Lowe’s GC might be bought by a company for 40 cents on the dollar. So he likely got these gift cards and then sold them at a highly discounted rate and walked away with cash.

    Matt, the findings letter said

‘Dinsmore and Clark determined that the majority of Eaton’s fraudulent conduct occurred by him purchasing gift cards at a local Kroger store with his University procurement card and then using the gift cards for his personal use’.

That doesn’t sound like they were all Kroger gift cards to me. I interpret that as ‘gift cards purchased at Kroger’. You can buy gift cards to many different stores at Kroger.

I can think of a reason for doing what Coach K did. If you see that the far urinal is disgusting and has pee all over it and on the floor below it, you may decide to go for the closer urinal.

The player from IUPUI that was mentioned that UK might take a look at if the Harrisons go to the NBA is Ian Chiles from Ballard High School in Louisville. He is the brother of Adam Chiles who played one year at UK for Tubby. I know Adam was dismissed from the team but I know his parents and they are a great family.

We had NBA guys 2 deep at every position this year.

And couldn’t get it figured out until the SEC tourney. And needed 4 out-of-their-head games to make a run.

We all love Cal. and he knows this better than anybody: it doesn’t matter who we got, if Cal can’t bring them together and find a plan for them, then the season starts to look bad REAL quick.

I agree. Just cut it out with all the crazy hype. “NBA guys two deep at each position” ??? That is pure speculation. Just because some of the guys would be second rd. picks, doesn’t mean they are going to become established NBA players. For one, I don’t think it’s any guarantee that both of the Harrisons are going to make it. For another, there’s no guarantee that Poythress will make it.
