Kentucky Sports Radio

University of Kentucky Basketball, Football, and Recruiting news brought to you in the most ridiculous manner possible.

It’s a KSR, Downton Abbey Crossover (Thursday Show Thread)

This morning’s KSR comes with a touch of Great Britain.  Ryan Lemond, Shannon the Dude, Drew Franklin and a hoarse Matt Jones will be coming to you LIVE from KSR’s Downton Abbey house in the heart of St. Louis.  It’s not open to the public, but I can guarantee the show will be filled with laughs as the crew gets silly inside the themed Air BnB.

Join in on the fun by calling (502) 571-1080 or send a text to the KSR Texting Machine at (859) 300-3264.

Fine, I admit it. I’ve watched every episode of Downton Abbey.

Have not ever watched it, but my schedule just does not lend itself to watching anything that is a serial series, where one episode builds on the plot of previous episodes. Probably why I spend most of the little time I am behind the tube watching stuff like Mythbusters, Graveyard Cars, and UK sports.

I’ve never seen it, but I want to.

Tom Crean is a pretty good analyst, and very funny. Yesterday he was talking about the UL v Fla St game; and, he said UL almost let them off the hook; the other guy said they definitely capitulated down the stretch..Crean said “I don’t know what that means; but they took their foot off the gas”.
    Ha Ha Ha.

Pretty good analyst, highly questionable coach. Kind of like Dakitch.

I have noticed that myself. I have also noticed that some of the most hateable coaches are actually likeable in the studio: Creen and Pearl are at the top of that list for me. I don’t remember feeling strongly either way for Seth Greenberg as a coach, but he is one of my favorites in the studio, which means I would want to punch him in the face as a coach. 🙂

When Cal eventually retires I think he will knock it out of the park as a TV analyst.

Yeah, I was taking care of nursing home stuff for my folks the past couple days, and now that I can listen again it is pretty dead on the show thread.

Oklahoma, loser of 6 in a row, 9 of 11, and with a record of 18-13 and 8-10 in conference. And Joe Lunardi still has them in the tournament…what a buffoon.
ESPN is so desperate to get Trae in the big show.

Didn’t they have a few “quadrant one” wins earlier in the season?

Wichita State and Kansas; but then Kansas beat them by 30. Meh.

All I know is, if UK got sent to the NIT for a 21-11 record in 2013, then Oklahoma should be NIT bound this year. Any team with a losing record in conference and fewer than 20 wins should not get into the NCAA Tournament (unless they get the automatic bid by winning their conference tournament).

That’s a NIT resume if there ever was one. Ultimately, the NCAAT committee doesn’t really give a crap what ESPN wants, so it will play out like it should, minus the usual head-scratching choices.

OU is already out of their tournament. Lunardi has OU in, and says Notre Dame has to beat Duke to get in…with Matt Farrell and Bonzie Colson healthy, ND would destroy OU.

And if ESPN wants to drool over Oklahoma, they should be hoping they end up in the NIT so they can televise those games.

J-Dub, I agree that we kind of got jobbed in 2013. A lot of that was based on the fact that Nerlens was hurt and we were sliding at the end of the season. And then to add insult to injury, we had to play AT RM because Rupp was being used for the Sweet Sixteen. I will never understand why the couldn’t have moved the high school tourney to Memorial and used Rupp – guess maybe something was going on there as well. Interesting fact – if UofL fails to make the NCAA Tourney, they could be facing the same scenario in the NIT – pretty sure YUM is booked for other events.

RCF, there is always Freedom Hall! Seriously, though, back before it became such a run down dump, FH was a great place to watch games.

I think Memorial was hosting opening rounds of the Women’s NCAA Tournament that year, if I remember correctly. U of L tried really hard to choke yesterday against Florida State.
