Bye bye Bagley, Bamba, Young, Ayton…and Michael Porter, we hardly knew ye.

All this McDonald’s AA stuff has me pumped up for next season! I’m not even sweating who goes or stays, just want to know who we have for sure.

Another reason to be pumped: it’s summer trip year. No waiting until October to see them in action.

I had completely forgotten that, Realme. Next season may be setting up to be something special.

As much as I liked our 2-headed PG situation this season, I think that position is going to be upgraded no matter who is still here.

So, if my husband eats a hot dog in a folded piece of bread (out of buns), does THAT make it a sandwich?

Just kidding, don’t answer me and start that argument all over again. πŸ™‚

Yeah, here we go again. Did the Earl of Sandwich write a dossier, “What makes a sandwich”?
Actually, he asked a valet to bring him meat between two slices of bread, because he was hungry, and too busy gambling to stop for a meal.
There’s an annoying commercial about that, ha ha ha.

But do I SANDWICH it between some form of bread?

      It is a sandwich. Bread…Ingredients….Bread. That’s a sandwich.

Is this whole debate just a Nothing Burger? πŸ˜€

    • ClutchCargo
      10:58 am March 29, 2018 Permalink

Yes, and a nothing burger would be a sandwich, but only in theory, since there is no bread and nothing in between the non-existent bread.

RE: Subway. My favorite sandwich by them – oven roasted chicken on flat bread, pepper jack cheese, double toasted, with spinach, tomato, oregano, and parmesan cheese. Tasty and relatively healthy.

Try those wraps they have now. Got one yesterday for lunch and it was delicious.

    • ClutchCargo
      10:55 am March 29, 2018 Permalink

I’ll give that wrap a shot, but the word “delicious” doesn’t come to mind when I think about anything at Subway. Subway is everywhere and it’s consistent, and those are pretty much the only reasons I ever go there.

I loved Jimmy Johns much more than Subway. But sadly the local Jimmy Johns closed and Subway is all I’m left with.

I won’t eat Subway anymore since their “meat” is barely meat.

When he played at Evansville, Chris Mack threw the ball into the face of an opposing player, because the player was crowding him on an inbounds pass. He lied, and said he tried to throw the ball over the guy’s head, then he said the coach told him to do it. Got a technical for that one.

So if a UofL player ever tries this….we’ll know it’s no accident.

    • RealCatsFan
      11:14 am March 29, 2018 Permalink

Unless he has a pattern of behavior like that, I wouldn’t necessarily hold it against him. Hard to say if there was a history between the two players, or if something had happened prior to the incident. Hopefully his coach dealt with him appropriately. A lot of us did some stupid things when we were young and dumb. So far he seems like a pretty good dude – as much as it pains me to say that. πŸ˜‰

I don’t know, RCF…even once, that’s pretty deplorable. It busted the guy’s lip, and it would be an immediate ejection in today’s game.

    • RealCatsFan
      11:41 am March 29, 2018 Permalink

That’s a little different – and yes, it should have been an ejection. I would hope that he apologized afterward, but who knows. I guess we will see what kind of guy he is in the coming days… πŸ˜‰

I try not to draw too many conclusions about somebody’s character based on what happens during the heat of the moment in a game. Except Grayson Allen. He has a clearly established pattern of being an ass. Most of us would have hated Boogie if he played for any other team.

I love the Black Keys. Saw them in Indianapolis in 2012 during UK’s run to the championship. It was a Christmas gift for Mrs. RCF. Heady times back then – Cats were awesome, we had AD and MKG, and we spent our time in Indy watching the Cats knock IU out of the tourney.

Tighten Up was the Black Keys’ breakout hit. Quirky tune with a great drumbeat.

An old roommate of mine left a box of his stuff and never picked it up after he left. We were buddies but it just never got back to him. I was going through it a few years later and he had several CDs of the Black Keys. Listened to it and have been a fan of them since. Great band.

How many kids out of HS are they expecting to flood the NBA? Can’t see that having much of an impact.

    • JerryDamage
      11:57 am March 29, 2018 Permalink

They’ve got to regulate it somehow. Otherwise you’re going to have players going who aren’t ready and NBA teams wasting their time on kids who dunked on everyone in High School but weren’t ready for the league.

In reality it’s probably 1-5 kids a year. They need to have a process like in order for a high school kid to be eligible to go straight to the league, they need to be invited to the combine by 25 out of the 30 teams.

    • lexslamman
      12:57 pm March 29, 2018 Permalink

Market equilibrium will solve that problem. Teams will get sick of striking out on players barely or not yet in their formative years and stop paying as much for them. Kids families and inner circles will realize that the gravy train is going down, the hype engine will get throttled, and we’ll settle into a new equilibrium where 10-30 of the elite make the leap early and the rest enroll or go back to school.
