If you don’t have anything to do on this beautiful Sunday in Lexington, just head to campus.

Today is the final day of the SEC Outdoor Track and Field Championships.  Andrew Evans has already captured the Gold in discus for the Cats, but they are far from finished.  Four athletes are in today’s finals, with the lady Cats poised to take home 100m and 200m crowns with multiple finalists.  Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for kids, and you can see the full schedule of today’s events here.

Just around the corner from the Track and Field Complex, UK Women’s Softball team is playing for a Regional Championship at John Cropp Stadium.  The Cats have already broken a school-record for wins this year and will need to be beaten twice to be eliminated.  The game against DePaul starts at 1:00 pm.  You can get $10 tickets at the door ($8 for kids and Seniors) or you can catch the game from home by watching on UKAthletics.com or listening to WLAP.

Could not make it to UK due to traveling for business. On my flight from Kentucky to DC, I was joined by Walter McArty, who is with the Celtics now, and he participated in the player evaluations this week, and I had to ask if he had a chance to see JY and JR. He did, thinks both are going to be in the NBA for a while. He said JR will be a top 5 pick very easy, and JY may surprise everyone vaulting higher than most people think.
Also asked him about the LSU game. “That game,” he said with a huge genuine, warm smile, “was a lot of fun.”
    Yeah, I guess.
    Go Cats.
