We didn’t get giggle box as Governor. I wonder if the people elected will effect Uncle Matt’s decision on running.

The GOP has inherited a mess in Frankfort. 22 billion in unfunded pension obligations because the state contributions to the funds have been diverted to other projects ,lawsuit filed by the KTRS for misappropriation of funds, crumbling roads and bridges and other problems to numerous to mention. Hope the people have come to their senses in time to straighten this mess out.
Can Democrats win in Kentucky? Yes, but last night proved it’s an uphill battle. What a politician needs to do is really mobilize their constituents. Roughly 1/4 of our state voted…. If this was a presidential election that number would be closer to 1/2. We need someone who gets people excited. Maybe Matt is that person…
??? Bevin is only the second Republican Governor in 40 years. I don’t know if you asked the correct rhetorical question. Conway was a poor choice but I am not excited about Bevin either.
Okay, can a Democrat win in Kentucky after Obama? I realize Dems have had a good run but it seems like the evil Obama and his care have left a bad taste in Kentuckians mouths. Well, maybe not in their mouths since Obama “took er jibs!”
I think Dems can win congressional races in Louisville, Lexington and possibly…possibly Northern Ky but it is becoming a steeper uphill battle. Presidential and senatorial contests will stay with the Republicans for the forseeable future. Wish I could choose something different than either of the above.
Just heard on the radio that former UofL BB player Kyle Kuric will undergo emergency surgery for a brain tumor. I lost my brother to a similar tumor years ago so I know firsthand how scary this situation is for Kyle and his family. Prayers going out for him. Even thought he played for our rival, he was always a class act and a very good player. Some things are way more important than sports. It would be very classy for KSR to put a post up supporting him.
It would be a nice gesture, but also pointless. Most Louisville fans [that I know] hate UK and KSR so much, they would find disrespect in even a nice mention. Best not to say anything at all.
Meh on the election. As long as we continue to vote for the two major parties, it will be more of the same, and they will continue to get rich off of us without accomplishing anything useful. I voted for Curtis, the independent candidate.

Hi ya’ll. Back from vacation, and one of my coworkers seriously just complained that my stapler is loud.
i would be stapling ALL THE THINGS for the rest of the day.
even things that do not need to be stapled. And when you’ve stapled everything you possibly can, walk around to your other co-workers and offer to staple all of their papers.
And after that runs it’s course, go to the printer, take out all the paper and start stapling that.
I’m having a rough morning too 🙁

normally, i would agree that some defiant, excessive stapling is in order, but i do know some people who bring the hammer of thor himself down on their staplers for a couple pieces of paper, so i would say as long as you are not one of those folks, git ‘em.
🙂 It is a loud stapler, designed to not require a lot of squeezing force, because I have hand issues. So I just enjoyed envisioning acting out Jay’s comment but restrained myself from actually doing it.
I prefer the Swingline stapler and my company recently switched to the Boston stapler but I was told I could keep the Swingline but now I can’t find it and I believe one of my co-workers has my stapler.

i would say matt should take a lesson from the last couple days. he does a great job with the ottawa game, gets lots of deserved praise. surely opens some new doors for him in sports broadcasting. continues to be a fellow on the rise in media.
compare that to adam edelen. as skilled in politics as jones is in media. loved by the press. no evidence to suggest that he got into politics for any other reason that to do good, make a difference, all that. said all the right things. loved by the media. spent a term rooting out corruption, advancing the ball, all that. running against a relative unknown. smacked down.
Go to a UGA message board, most of them are rooting for UK so they will fire Richt.

Teddy, I disagree. With Conway you could bet on more spending , higher taxes, and more debt. With Bevin, I don’t know yet. What I do know is the Democrats have been in control for almost 40 years solid and we are in a big mess. Time to give someone else a shot.
Glad Mr Gigglepants and company are leaving Frankfort. Democrats in KY are so confused by the fact that the rest of us are tired of having to pay for their vote buying via “government programs” like the failure of Obamacare aka Kynect. If you are on the receiving end, all is good, but for those of us that are paying more for less coverage, the reason is all too obvious – there are no free lunches, somebody has to pay.
Kynect, like many Kentucky programs, has been funded by federal dollars. Kentucky receives way more than it puts in. Kynect funding will run out but the state’s healthcare debt is only going to get worse.
Issel only played three years and is the all-time (men’s) scoring leader so I don’t think all the records will remain unbroken.
No one who is good enough to break most records will stay long enough to do so. Single season records are up for grabs, but that’s about it.

I still say that, as ironic as it is, Matt Jones putt Matt Bevin in the governors mansion. He was losing both the primary and the election before his KSR debate performances.

I had a sociology professor that instructed us all to go to the UK healthcare and get an aids test and write about it back in the 90s. I just pretended that I went and made up the paper.
No way did I vote for Bevin but Beshear punting the pension issue ( along with the state legislature) down the road is behavior bordering on criminal that will haunt us and perhaps even destroy us, decades from now. Drew Curtis was right to make the pension situation a primary subject of his campaign.
The truth is that the pension issue is so huge and so terrible that it may have doomed the administration of whoever won the election. A few years from now, Conway and Curtis may both be glad they lost. Governor Beshear sat on a nuclear bomb and ran the timer down to five seconds, basically.

Had some ordered with Dick’s Sporting Goods on Friday, confirmed they had in stock and processed my order, then finally came back today and canceled my order and said they didn’t have them and didn’t know when more would arrive. Completely screwed me over, along with several other customers. Never buy another thing from those a-holes.

What happened between Matt and TJ Beisner?
To the best of my knowledge, they just drifted apart. Beisner started doing more TV, and Matt stayed with radio and the website.
I think there’s something more than that… Beisner tweeted out awhile back that Matt thought he was too good to go to UK, and there was some other things did said as well. He deleted them shortly after that though.

As a young republican living in Louisville, I can honestly say that this city is not as liberal as everyone seems to think. The only reason why many people here voted for Conway is because he’s from Louisville. I wasn’t really fan of either candidate. For me it was like picking between Louisville and Duke, you kinda just side with whoever you hate least.
Take a look at John Oliver’s bit about hypocritical Matt Bevin on his HBO show “Last Week Tonight”. It seems he did not buy insurance on his company’s factory building because it was “unaffordable” and when it burnt down he looked for government assistance to build it back. John Oliver is on HBO and has very little viewers. And Jon Stewart isn’t even doing his show anymore. You can always tell the Independent voters because they have no clue what is going on.

I am an independent voter and I can’t for the life of me understand you liberals. You ignore facts unless they fit your narrative.
