Today marks the conclusion of the 2019 Special Olympics Kentucky Summer Games held at Eastern Kentucky University. I spent my weekend on campus with the fine folks from SOKY, and let me tell you, if you’ve never attended a Special Olympics event, you’re missing out on an inspiring athletic display. And this year’s edition was especially celebratory; it was the 25th year that the Summer Games were held at EKU.

Between the rousing enthusiasm, impressive sporting skills, and copious amounts of Chick-Fil-A, there’s a little something for everybody at the SOKY Summer Games.

If you couldn’t make it out to the Summer Games, no worries. SOKY holds events all year round, and while they welcome spectators, you should consider volunteering for them. They’re a wonderful organization, and you can find their info at soky.org.
