Shawshank Redemption must be the dUKe of Movie Madness, based on its first round draw.

This is the most ridiculous thing anyone has done in earnest on the radio in years, and I love everything about it. This kind of stuff is what makes KSR my favorite show

So the Original “Batman” movie can advance over Harry Potter, but the BEST Batman move (The Dark Knight) loses to Se7en?

    This logic is flawed.

What’s flawed is why it isn’t listed as Batman Begins…all the other movies are listed as the entire series. If that was the case, it wouldn’t be close. Plus the original batman would suffer due to the weakness of it’s last two sequels pulling it down. But the Dark Knight is the best batman ever, no doubt about that.

matrix is better than there will be blood hands down. the first matrix that is

If you’re counting all seven Harry Potter movies, all five Rocky movies and Creed, and all seven Star Wars movies as one each, the other two major Matrix movies (not counting Animatrix which was actually pretty good) seriously ruined the first one’s chances to move on

      Six Rocky movies plus Creed…

Oh yeah! I’ll let you guess which Rocky one I forgot about…

      3:06 pm April 28, 2017 Permalink

I’m guessing Rocky 5, that’s the only one that is not either critically acclaimed (Rocky, Rocky Balboa, Creed) or a fan favorite, (2,3,4). Plus, since I’m already picking on you, guess it would be 7 Star Wars plus Rogue One.

    • Mathlete
      4:15 pm April 28, 2017 Permalink

Actually it was Rocky Balboa because I didn’t bother. Didn’t care about seeing Rocky battle waking up to pee 7 times per night and forgetting where he left his keys.

I didn’t forget Rogue One though, I intentionally repressed The Phantom Menace.

I think the top 64 was flawed and missing some good ones. Cape Fear with DeNiro. The Equalizer, Denzel Washington. Gangs of New York, Cold Mountain. Forrest Gump should win

Don’t understand the whole Shaw shank fascination. It really sucked. Should be gladiator, silence, star wars and I’m torn between gump and saving Ryan.

Shawshank is one of the best films ever. “The colossal prick even managed to sound magnanimous”.

So I see Gangs of New York got beat out by Rocky. The Rocky movies are definitely iconic and All-american. Tough draw for Gangs of New York.

Uhhhhh Jurassic Park beat Tombstone??!!. This bracket lost all of its credibility…….

    • ukbradstith

Jurassic park was groundbreaking, revolutionary…Tombstone, no matter how much you love it, was none of those things.

So 2 of the best movies ever made- the Shining and Indiana Jones out in the 1st round? yeaaaaaaa…. LOL

    • Mathlete
      4:22 pm April 28, 2017 Permalink

Indiana Jones as a franchise is two of the greatest adventure movies of all time and two dumpster fires. If it were just Raiders and Last Crusade, I’d say it would be a Final Four franchise

Caddyshack should be included because it transcends the comedy genre

  14. Duff86

Was everything from the martial arts genre not included for some reason? Where is Crouching Tiger, Hero, Drunken Master…any of those should have filled at least one spot.
