It was a sluggish start for UK on the defensive end – who allowed Chalone-Reims to shoot 73%. Hopefully things pick up in the second.

Cal just said he plans to stick with the two platoons in the regular season + and 6th man when WCS and Lyles return. I didnt mind it in the Bahamas so everyone could play, but I dont see a two team platoon system working all year. Plus I want to see some other combinations out there.

The good news, we have a whole season to find out. I really like that Cal is considering expanding his traditional 6-7 man rotation. There are a lot of players on this team that have something unique to offer. If that looks more like platoons or a wide array of situational substitutions will get worked out over the course of the season. Of course, this could be just Cal speech and we’ll only see 7 players play meaningful basketball for the entirety of the season. It’s just nice to have options.
