Harry Giles is leaving the state of North Carolina

Kentucky’s chances of landing the No. 1 player in America got a little help today when Harry Giles announced he will leave North Carolina for his senior season of basketball. Giles is transferring to Oak Hill in Virginia to finish out his high school career.

The move doesn’t change the fact that Giles is born and bred North Carolina and has family around the state, but it does get him a little farther away from those home state schools, and their fans, competing with Kentucky for his services.

Giles announced the news this afternoon with a lengthy message on Twitter:

In case you missed it, Jeff Goodman called Giles the second best prospect he’s seen in the last decade, behind Anthony Davis.

      1) Why are you here?
      2) I’ll laugh my ass off if he does.

You’re probably right based on everything I’ve heard, but forgive us for following recruiting news.

I’ll bet his high school coach in North Carolina thought Giles was going to play there his senior year, too. Kids are as unpredictable as cats.

Since you can see the future so well, can you give me next week’s winning lottery numbers?

The name works well for you, because you would have to be crazy to want to root for dook, and the fact that you have to come to a UK fan site to troll belies your mental issues.

Whenever Coach Buy-A-Vowel leaves dook will slide back to mediocrity – a’la UCLA and IU. One coach has all of their NCAA titles. UK has won titles under FIVE different coaches, over the span of 60+ years. That, my friend, is staying power and continued excellence.

The Harrison Twins are going to Maryland, hicks.

Julius Randle is a done deal to Texas. Deal with it, mullets.

Jamal Murray ain’t gonna commit to UK, he’s all Oregon.

“Jeff Goodman says…” blah blah blah. If the kid throws them all a curve ball and commits to Kentucky Goodman will start trash-talking him. His hate for Kentucky rivals Rat Forde’s. With that said….I hope if Giles doesn’t go to Kentucky he goes to UNC.

Leaving the state of North Carolina? Barely. Oak Hill Academy is 2.5 miles from the North Carolina border.

It’s like leaving the state of Kentucky to go to school in New Albany. You guys are clutching at straws.
