We thought we’d wait until she got a few lake beers down before wishing KSR’s own Tyler Thompson the happiest of birthdays. Tyler is the Editor in Chief behind Kentucky Sports Radio dot com and she is its most frequent contributor; without her, KSR wouldn’t be where it is today, wherever that is. Where are we?
So to Tyler, I hope you’re not reading this because you’re on vacation, but Happy Birthday to you! Thanks for all you do for us at KSR, for the live blogs, for the KSRun club, for East Nashville, for the Nashville Predators and for the Karl-Anthony Towns Fan Club, of which you are the president.
Cheers from the office!
Now for some late afternoon/early evening notes:
— Want to try out to be a UK cheerleader? Now you can! (Well maybe not all of you.) If you think you fit the description of a UK cheerleader, click here for more details on how to get going. I assume you’ll need to be a college student but I didn’t read the fine print.
— A fake UK quarterback won the Heisman in Big Cat’s fake college football career as Coach Duggs, now the head coach at Toldeo. Arthur Morris, a junior QB with 52 total touchdowns in his junior season, won the award. (I’ll remind you: this is all on a video game.)

So at least someone (in this case the someones who built the technology in NCAA Football ’14) believes a Kentucky football player can win the Heisman.
— Phil Mickelson is the leader in the clubhouse at the Travelers. He fired a 63 to take the lead, one shot ahead of a young guy out of Vanderbilt, Will Gordon, who is not on any of the major tours. Xander Schauffele, Rory McIlroy and others aren’t far behind. We’re in for a fun weekend of golf, folks.
— Rest in peace, Huey, the man who taught us to pop, lock and then drop it.
