Birthday brownies are in order for one of the BBN’s own. Former Kentucky head coach Tubby Smith turns 69 years old on Tuesday.

The Kentucky basketball twitter account sent some love to Smith on his birthday, and the account Not Jerry Tipton pointed out some of the coach’s finest moments during his time at Kentucky along with some highlights.

Smith is currently the head coach at his alma mater, High Point University. The Panthers also wished him well on social media:

In his ten seasons at Kentucky, Smith led UK to an overall record of 263–83. He was elected to the UK Athletic Hall of Fame in 2013.

I always liked Tubby. Seemed like a real class act.

A class act and ran a clean program. Very down to earth.

    Hated his style though

Me also, lizard king. His coaching style just wasn’t right for Ky. But he was the kind of person
you wouldn’t mind having for a next door neighbor. Good family man.
