Hamidou Diallo’s future teammates weigh in on his decision

Hamidou Diallo is a Kentucky Wildcat and Twitter is all abuzz with the news. Diallo will enroll this semester (as in next week), but isn’t expected to play this season. Instead, he’ll sit out, practice with the team, and prepare for the 2017-2018 season. Kentucky’s 2017 commitments are very excited about their future teammate:

If you’re keeping score at home, here’s Kentucky’s 2017 class so far (including Diall0)

Just explain why a kid this talented won’t play this year. Is he better than Mychal Mulder?

Probably because he’s a high school kid immediately dropping into the college game. Knows nothing about UK or how they play and didn’t get the summer/fall semester, like all the current players, to learn how the college game works.

Yes, this kid is better than Mulder and Hawkins, but Mulder deserves more minutes before this kid I believe. Cal has worked his butt off to get this team more disciplined collectively. This could mess that or team chemistry up. I’m all for Cal playing 4 guards and Bam and let them play ball! We would lose a lot of rebounds but it would be exciting. In all seriousness Hami could take Doms minutes and Mulder can take Willis’ minutes and we would be great. Maybe Wenyen could give Bam a blow every now and then.

Could he practice with the team, learn plays and players and work into the rotation maybe late February? And if he doesn’t interfere with team chemistry and is a positive then why not?

Don’t think this will match up with some other Ky recruiting classes, but not bad. Would like to see a top 10 player or 2 also commit…
