Get well soon, Bobby!

Our good buddy Bobby Flynn, one of the most beloved people in Lexington, is facing tough times right now after suffering a fall from his attic over the weekend. According to his son, former Cincinnati Red Doug Flynn, Bobby has broken ribs, a broken clavicle, internal bleeding, stitches in his hand and multiple lacerations. He is currently in the UK Hospital.

Many of you may know Bobby from one of his many jobs around town. He’s long been a fixture at UK sporting events, Keeneland, and Lexington Legends games, among other places. Some of you may even know him as a former state Senator, or way back in the day as the first white player on the Lexington Hustlers, a black semi-pro baseball team in the 1940s.

John and Ellen Calipari paid Bobby a visit earlier today and he was all smiles, despite his current situation:

Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers as he recovers. Bobby is honestly one of the nicest, most genuine people you’ll ever meet. It’s impossible to not have a smile any time he is around.

I’m looking forward to the day we can get back to our routine of taking selfies:

Get well soon, Bobby!!!
