George Brown commits to Florida

997523

Well, it turns out all of those signs we’ve seen this week were correct. Three-star offensive tackle George Brown Jr. committed to Florida over Kentucky this afternoon in the most ridiculous manner I’ve ever seen, by pulling a LIVE BABY GATOR out from under the table:

Another of the baby gator because I can’t get over this:

Wow. Tough loss, but remember, it’s not over ’til Signing Day. Who knows, if the UK staff keeps on him and Florida struggles this season, Brown may be pulling a kitten out of his pocket in the near future.

Please don’t tweet negative stuff to him. Just unfollow him on twitter to show the power of BBN. Wonder how long he will be coached by the present Florida staff?

Especially since there’s still a reasonable chance to flip him prior to signing day. Just tell the kid good luck.

You mean the Florida athletic director would fire a coach for not winning?
At Kentucky you’d get a million dollar raise.
Let’s critize UF for this young man picking their school over Kentucky. We’re in coasting mode now until the big boys fill their recruiting needs.
Did you know Charlie Strong has poor communcation skills?
Wonder why Tennessee wanted him? Or Texas?
If you win 12 games in a year, I personally don’t care if your a Maritan and speak in tongues. Appartently he can hire coaches and communicate well enough to win major bowls. I.e. south of balmy Nashville.

Go wildcats, believe in the team not an individual!

It’s time to break the win/loss streak with Florida. If we don’t accomplish anything else this season, that will be a sweet moment. I know, that’s a tough order to fill at the swamp.

Big George snubbed us after a long relationship. He believes in the Gators over the Cats, but he has a rude awakening coming over the horizon. The Cats will turn the tide on the Gators.

Im not trying to be cynical, but who cares? the guy is a THREE star player, its not like he is the second coming of dermontti dawson. he will get recruited over at florida and never play more then special teams. the upper tier SEC schools have better players than him that never see the field

Why in the world would a kid commit to a school where the coach openly admits he is surprised he still has a job & who fan base absolutely hates their coach?

    • Tom
      2:51 pm July 25, 2014 Permalink

      I agree!
Why would a kid commit to a school who puts the emphemis on winning?
Doesn’t he get to see the Basketball Wildcats play if he comes to Lexington?
Je could be a building block in reviving a program that has won more than they loss in the SEC in thirty five years!
Wonferhow many coaches since Blanton Collier have used that pitch?
C’mon down to Lexington, where we are teaching an assistant to be a head coach. We know that failed the last time but YOU young man are the who is going to turn the tide.

After 4 years, winning maybe six SEC games in those four seasons, the same or different coaches having told each recruit the same every year, wonder how that successful school with experienced head coaches, having to build large trophy cases, instead of downsizing the stadium, realizes he might have been mislead a hair or two.

As soon as our athletic directorgets a home in the islands given to him to make him go away, (I’ll give ten dollars) hopefully we get some people on the athletic board who wants a proven head coach with experienced assistants, and refuses to be in awe of riding basketball coat tails we might actually have a football program that is not operating on the purpose of filling space between the opening of school and the basketball season.

      Wouldn’t that be different?

Yeah you’re right. Maybe you should have told Herford and Noah and those guys that they shouldn’t have gone to Florida—where they won a championship. I also suppose Matt Elam was supposed to go to Alabama SMH.

Good luck big guy hope you have a great career! And don’t worry BBN atleast we are losing recruits to Florida and Alabama and not South Alabama or Florida Atlantic like before! Go big Blue always!

If Florida struggles this season? They may go 4-8 again, but 1 of their wins will be at home vs. UK, while UK will struggle to go 4-8 with 3 wins vs. OOC cupcakes. Guarantee you one thing–look at FL’s defensive roster. They will have a top 10 ranked defense and likely a healthy Driskell. I don’t think any FL struggle is gonna be worse than ours! Let’s just wish Brown and CJ Conrad good luck and move on.

We demand this inhuman monster be held accountable for using this helpless, unwilling reptile for the entertainment of the soulless fans of the Uiversity of Florida football program. . Of course this debacle could have been avoided if only the University of Kentucky, where the mascot is treated with admiration and respect, not butchered for meat and purses in the name of consumer satisfaction, had been the college of choice.

I think I just became the biggest fan of every team that plays UF this year. When their current staff gets shit canned, we’ll not only get Brown, but also Marcus Lewis, which will further strengthen the DMV pipeline. Now let’s just pray we can crank out some W’s and retain this class!

He’ll now stay a 3 star according to KSR. Had we gotten him they’d claim him a 5 star based on JimmyFrancisRecruiting.com’s ranking of him

Funny watching uk fans talk football. The lack of knowledge is amusing. “ONLY a 3 star”. Now that Stoops is actually getting some good players to commit to uk you all talk all this star rating and recruiting rankings like you are suddenly some kind of experts.

Here is a wake up call for you. Offensive linemen rated over 3 stars are few and far between. 5 stars is nearly unheard of. If you do manage to get a 4 star OL that is a special get. The VAST majority of offensive linemen are rated 3 stars. Even the big name programs take lots of 3 star linemen all the time.
