Gearing up for the Bahamas Trip (Thursday Show Thread)

bahamas-swimming-pigs

A while back, Rose sent me this picture of pigs swimming in the Bahamas and it’s still awesome.

Good morning and welcome to the Thursday edition of Kentucky Sports Radio. Today, the guys will get you ready for the basketball team’s big trip to the Bahamas, which starts this weekend. They’ll also recap yesterday’s intense and unexpected interview with John Feinstein, including just how uncomfortable it made Ryan Lemond. Tomorrow is football media day, so they’ll also give us a preview, and talk about how Corey Johnson’s poop comment went viral.

Join in on the fun by calling (502) 571-1080.

Matt, you have gone off the deep end with that one. Don’t get me wrong, I love the 90’s bands like Nirvana, STP, etc., but for sheer talent and song writing ability, there are very few comparisons to Led Zeppelin. The Who, The Beatles, and maybe a few others are up there with them, but not very many others.

    Other Zeppelin songs,

    Whole Lotta Love
    Kashmir
    In My Time of Dying

Just those three songs show the versatility of this band, spanning from straight up rock to pop/orchestra to blues. Sorry, Matt, but you know not what you say.

The picture of pigs swimming in the Bahamas is more relevant that you think.
The name of Paradise Island prior to the Casino being there was Hog Island,
where residents of Nassau let their hogs out loose to graze and fend for themselves,
much like the Hatfields and McCoys turned their hogs loose in the woods, thus causing
problems identifing whose hog was which, starting the feud.

    STAIRWAY IS OVER RATED.
I would say that at least 3 or 4 songs on LZ IV are better than Stairway.
But back in the day a band that was as HEAVY as LZ is what makes them special.

    • ukbradstith

I’ll answer for him…songs that aren’t great become iconic all the time. Gangham Styleis iconic, one of the most iconic songs ever for a variety of reasons, but was it a great song? Catchy, but I don’t know that it’s great. Ice Ice Baby, Whoop There It Is, Thriller, U Can’t Touch This, Friday…all iconic, some not so great.

Matt, I find it amusingly that you say Louisville can do any dastardly thing it wants
because it has the Louisviille Media in its pocket, and not realize your beloved Obama
Administration has the same unfair and unbalanced advantage. The Socialist Sycophantic Press
in DC and New York are a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Democrat Party. That’s why Obama
can screw-up royally at home and abroad, and even unconstitutionally re-write Obamacare 41 times
with no fear of being held to account for it. Same thing as in Louisville.

listening podcast now… using the one-name rule as a base for determining rock star status isn’t a great rule. That really depends on whether your name is generic or not. What if Lebron James’ name was Chris James? you couldn’t just drop Chris or James in a casual conversation and expect the other person to know who you’re talking about.
