Woohoo – working from home today because my kid is home sick from school. I’m dealing with the same crud. At least not many interruptions from work to listen to KSR. 🙂

OK, I’ll try this again, since the moderator police don’t like the “P-word” 😀

Did anyone see Trump campaign manager Kellyanne Conway on Good Morning America this morning? She actually said the “P-word” on national TV!

Actually, she said something to the effect that Republican leaders need to stop “pu**yfooting” around and either support or not support Trump, but I thought it was an interesting source of words. 🙂

Injury bug is starting to rear its ugly head for the football team. Another reason why quality depth is so important in the SEC, and also an example of why rebuilding a football team is usually a multi-year project. Not apologizing for Stoops, just sayin’…

    • Chesters Daddy
      10:24 am October 12, 2016 Permalink

But the quality recruits has seen what he does with talent and what he does too talent, and there turning us down now and I don’t blame them. No way I would send my kid to Stoops. A DL from Florida just turned us down for loserville last week.

    • RCF, exactly. That’s why it hurt us a WHOLE lot more than it would have hurt Bama to not have Meant, Tubman, and Hatcher right now. If only…but we can’t go back.

      *sigh*

    • J-Dub421
      10:35 am October 12, 2016 Permalink

The bye week came at a very good time. Hopefully a week off will help them heal up a few minor injuries.

    • CD, RCF is right. We can argue about how MANY years it should take, but you couldn’t expect Stoops to turn us into a 10-2 team in 2 years. Petrino wouldn’t have done that. Granted, I do believe he would have turned us around faster with his experience, but I don’t believe we could have made a bowl that first year regardless of who the coach would have been.

Remember that Freddie Maggard , who’s forgotten more about football that you or I will ever know, said that Stoops inherited Sun Belt level talent, and not only that, but LOWER LEVEL Sun Belt talent, meaning worse than what TROY and WESTERN usually have. TROY, a team that was 1-AA 15 years ago, and WESTERN, a team that was 1-AA 8 years ago (of course they’re Conference USA now).

I agree Chris but only thing is we are looking worse now and have better talent. My problem with him is Mon thru friday. He always likes to blame other people and players for his short Cummings. Watch and see players are seeing the coach he is and starting to turn him down. I say get us a coach in here that can coach while we have this talent here, if we don’t the next coach will be starting behind the eight ball.

I don’t understand why everyone wants rid of johnson, Barker has proved nothing and Johnson’s legs help the line from having to block as long. I’m a Barker fan, but Johnson has done nothing to get jerked anyways.

    • Realme

People doubt his throwing ability. Also, there’s not a qb since I’ve been watching (less than 10 years) that the fans haven’t wanted to be replaced. It’s what we do.

Secrick, all I’ve heard is that it’s a back injury. There has been some talk that Barker may not play again this season, but nothing concrete. I do not know if that’s true or not.

    • Chesters Daddy
      10:43 am October 12, 2016 Permalink

They are talking that he’s out for season but I don’t know for sure, but I agree until Johnson blows a huge second half keep him in there. Our line isn’t great so Johnson’s mobility covers up the lines deficiencies. I don’t understand why we don’t run Snell more in first half wearing down and loosening up the defense, I think it would let boom and Jojo break more long runs and make it easier on Johnson in the passing game.

To be fair, I realize that some folks post from a phone, and auto correct and fat thumbs can make for some, ahem, interesting replies. But at the same time, sometimes an intelligent idea can be lost if the grammar and punctuation is in a state of disarray. A person can be perfectly intelligent, but his / her text or post can make it look like it is Jethro Bodine posting the message.

    • The only reason I listen to PF is because of the analysts, etc. that he has on. I like to hear Spears & McFarlin (McFarland) and guys like that, and former coaches like Gene Stallings. Not to mention our own Uncle Matt!

Last year MJ was totally cracking up (I think) Spears when he was hammering Mike & Mike about what they said about Cal or UK or whatever it was. I like Mike & Mike but that was a funny beatdown, and Marcus was enjoying it too.

  8. Osmond Brothers. Talk about a blast from the past!

*True story: I remember when I was growing up in Lexington, the white kids and the black kids would argue over who was better between the Osmonds and the Jackson 5. It was all in fun. And yes, I just dated myself! lol

    • J-Dub421

      Jackson 5, hands down.

    • I liked them both, but Michael was certainly the King of Pop for a reason. However, in all fairness to the Osmonds, and Donny in particular, they were very talented but couldn’t overcome the Bubble Gum/Goodie-Goodie image once they grew up. At least Donny made a decent comeback with Soldier of Love & Sacred Emotion.

  9. Well guys, I try to participate whenever I don’t have meetings or just too much to do, but I’ll be out the next couple days due to the death of my older brother.

I won’t go into detail about it, but just know this, many members of the KSR crew joke so much about getting hammered (to the point you would think they do it all the time it seems), but folks, alcoholism is DEADLY. It killed our biological father, who I didn’t grow up with, and now both my brothers. This is the reason, in addition to my spiritual views, that I am a teetotaler.

Enough of that. Love you guys…even you cats paw & Billy Hill! 🙂

    • Realme, he was the Eagles’ guitarist, and in 1980 he wanted to run for prez but he was too young, and some folks I think even started a petition for him (all just a publicity stunt by Walsh I’m sure). He promised free gas for everybody. lol

      Oh, THAT Joe Walsh.

    • Oh, and it was even mentioned in concert on the “Eagles Live” album. Someone’s surely loaded that onto Youtube. I think it’s right before he sings his solo hits “Life’s Been Good” and “All Night Long” that Glenn Frey introduces him as “The next president of the United States, Joe Walsh!”. I had that on cassette back in the day.

He also went out on a solo career back in the 80’s. If you listen to classic rock stations at all, you have probably heard some of his songs, most notably “Life’s Been Good”, and “Rocky Mountain Way”. He was also an integral part of the James Gang back in the 70’s.

I think he actually did his “presidential run” mostly in jest, but also as a protest against the government establishment. I think he even released a song and a video, “Vote for Me”.

I actually find myself agreeing with him politically:

I have daughters, so seeing something like this makes it harder. I remember after 9/11, I was ready to react with the thought that we should just nuke the entire Middle East until it glows. Problem is, there are regular people who are innocent and would suffer. Sometimes the world seems like a pretty sucky place, with no clear answers.

The media brings the insanity of human conflict into our homes. As awful as it seems in print, or on screen, it is infinitely much more perverse when it is up close and personal.
You question everything you had ever thought was right or wrong. You never forget, nor do you ever forgive yourself, or those you fight against. You just hope and pray, that what is done in the process, helps the world become a better place, for everyone.
Then you spend the rest of your life seeking the truth, and forgiveness for your soul.
As long as man exists, there will be conflict.
“Only the bones of the dead, have seen the end of war.”
    – Caesar

My apologies in advance to whom this may offend or bring down. It was not the intent. Just a view from someone who can relate.
