Earlier this week, Kentucky hired Mississippi State assistant Nick Mingione as its new head baseball coach, and now, it looks like Kentucky’s former head baseball coach is headed to Mississippi State to be an assistant. According to the Clarion-Ledger, Gary Henderson is nearing a deal to join John Cohen’s staff at Mississippi State as pitching coach. Henderson held the same position when Cohen was the coach at Kentucky from 2004-2008.
Henderson resigned on June 1 after eight seasons. He leaves UK with a 258-199 record, which includes two NCAA Tournament appearances (2012, 2014).
