Future UK QB makes SportsCenter’s Top 10 Plays


On Saturday night, future UK quarterback Walker Wood led his Lafayette Generals to a 47-21 win over Boyle County by rushing for 188 yards and four touchdowns and throwing for two more touchdowns. Wood’s incredible performance was capped off by a thrilling 63-yard touchdown that was so good it was ranked the 6th best play of the weekend on SportsCenter’s Top 10. Watch Wood recover a bad snap and shake off seven defenders on his way down the field:

Wood’s already a favorite for Kentucky’s Mr. Football Award, and performances like this are why. Well done, sir.

      I hate how right you are about that… I think part of their recruiting strategy is to just watch who we offer early and go after the guys they want

    Walker’s got some nice moves, can’t wait to see that guy playing at Commonwealth in a couple of years!

    Blue blood football schools are gonna come beating the door down for this kid. I hope like Hell we can hang on to him.
