— Kevin Doyle will NOT visit the University of Kentucky tomorrow. The well-connected Justin Rowland over at the Rivals empire is now reporting that three-star quarterback Kevin Doyle has canceled his Friday trip to the Bluegrass. Doyle’s father apparently told Rowland “something came up” and they hope to visit at a later date. The optimist in me says that “something” is good news on the Jarren Williams front, although that’s probably far too optimistic. Whatever came up could really be anything, from a family function or a bad case of the bubble guts or free tickets to the Indigo Girls concert in D.C. tonight. I don’t know. But the visit is on hold, per Rowland’s report.
— We have our KSR Movie Madness title match. The two semifinal votes took place on this morning’s show and it was Pulp Fiction and Forrest Gump that advanced to the championship, edging out Shawshank Redemption and Goodfellas. The final winner be decided tomorrow at our show from the Oaks as we each place our votes and then ask random people at Churchill Downs to weigh in as well. If you know me, you know I’m all in on Forrest Gump and will raise fifty kinds of hell if Pulp Fiction wins. Go Forrest.
— Kevin Knox announcing on Derby day isn’t ideal. The last time we had a Derby day announcement to watch it was Jaylen Brown and he picked California over Kentucky in a somewhat surprising announcement. This year we’ll be glued to our phones awaiting Knox’s announcement and I’m afraid we’ll be in for heartbreak once again. Hopefully some kind of words begins to leak in the next 24 hours that gives us a pretty good idea of what’s ahead so we don’t get our hopes up on Derby day.
— Bam Adebayo met American Pharoah today. And he somehow makes the Triple Crown winner look small.
— On very serious note… Everyone needs to take a moment to watch this minister puking as a couple reads their wedding vows. But first you should know it’s disgusting. Once you accept that, watch away:
I think I’ll end on that note.
