And then there were six.
Four-star center Frank Anselem announced Friday afternoon that he is down to six finalists. Kentucky headlines a group that includes Syracuse, Arkansas, San Diego State, Seton Hall and Western Kentucky.
A 6-foot-10, 220-pound center out of Suwanee, GA, 247 Sports ranks Anselem as the No. 15 center and 85 player in the 2020 recruiting class after the Nigerian-born athlete reclassified in early April.
Kentucky only recently entered Anselem’s recruitment. Searching for bigs to fill the Wildcats’ frontcourt, John Calipari and Joel Justus spoke to his camp Sunday night on a conference call and Tuesday via Zoom.
Anselem has only played basketball for five years. Categorized as a “project,” the big man needs a couple of years to maximize his potential. Will that development happen at Kentucky? We should find out soon. For more, check out the latest from Jack Pilgrim’s Insider Notes and enjoy some of the big man’s highlights.
