When Jermaine Eskridge committed to Kentucky over the summer, we knew it was far from a sure thing. Eskridge is only a sophomore in high school, and though he said he planned to attend UK for college, early commitments rarely pan out.
Well today, the somewhat expected news came out that Eskridge has decommitted from Kentucky and reopened his recruitment. The four-star wide receiver in the 2018 class had this message for the UK coaching staff on Twitter:
At the time of his commitment, Eskridge was the ninth prospect to commit to UK in the month of July. It was an unprecedented month for the staff, although a lot of it was based on momentum. It’s not a shock to see the youngest of that bunch reconsider his decision.
Good luck to the young man. Hopefully he keeps the Cats in mind going forward.
